Compatibility issues between Atomos Ninja Blade and Nikon D750 DSLR

1. Frame rate synchronisation

A very interesting fact is that the framerate displayed on the Atomos is never identical to that indicated on the Nikon.
If 1080p at 30fps are selected on the Nikon the Atomos Blade shows 1080p but 29.97fps instead of 30fps.
However, according to the user manual the Atomos should be able to adjust the frame rate as described in the user manual ("Pulldown" function). See photo below
:

Atomos-Test-1

2. Video resolution selection on Atomos

Aside from what described in point 1, it is not possible to change the input video resolution (input) on the Atomos in order also to adjust the frame rate indicated on the Atomos with the one set on the Nikon.
See photo above
: The blue arrow to the right of the input (1080p 29.97 fps) remains dark blue which means no changes can be done.
However
for the recording format (Pro Res) and quality (422) the arrow is light blue meaning that, by tapping on it, you can select other options.

3. Frame rate

Atomos Ninja Blade does not support 50 and 60fps in Full HD 1080p. Therefore it is impossible to exploit all the capabilities of the Nikon D750. Choosing 1080p at 60fps on the Nikon results in a halving of the frame rate to 29.97fps
on the Ninja Blade. See photo below:

Atomos-Test-2

4. Live View on the Nikon D750

Strangely, the live view on the Nikon remains always active despite having followed the instructions to the letter watching the official Atomos video (even if a Shogun was used) where the live view is disabled within the Nikon. See both photos.
Link Test Atomos

5. Loss of signal between Atomos and Nikon

Every so often there is a loss of signal between Atomos and Nikon. The explanation may lie in the fact that the two frame rates are not identical on both devices which leads to a loss in synchronisation.
